Piling Foundations
PILING FOUNDATIONS
Design Engineers will design piling foundations into most construction projects.
Piling foundations are deep structured holes that have been installed using different styles and sizes of Augers and Core barrels depending on ground conditions.
Piling foundations provide a weight bearing vertical structure for above ground constructions and create stability in any substandard ground conditions. Secant piling techniques are often applied to ensure earth retention.
BORED PIERS
Engineers will include Bored Piers in their design if the soil report indicates suitable ground conditions. Bored Piers are used where the ground conditions are stable and won’t collapse over short periods of time. This is one of the more desired options of piling.

ROCK DRILLING
Rock drilling requires specialist piling equipment such as Rock Augers and Core Barrels. These are designed and made to penetrate some of the hardest rock in Australia.
Bored Piers in rock are a requirement by most Engineers to provide a more stable foundation. As Melbourne has some of the most varied/hardest rock conditions in all of Australia we are very experienced in various excavations, earthworks, pendulum and Rock Drilling projects.

Basement Projects can include piling and excavation works for multi-level basement constructions in varying ground conditions.
Basements are becoming much more popular in order to utilise land space. Basements can be utilised for underground car parking, an underground swimming pool, games room, or even a wine cellar.

Piling Packages
PILING PACKAGES
Our Piling packages are developed to be ‘Drill Only’, ‘Drill, Supply & Install’ or if required, ‘Design and Construction Piling’ packages.
A Design & Construction Piling package will include certification, dual certification, inspections, auto-cad drawings, capping beam and shotcrete design of the piles.
D & C Packages can be utilised in order to streamline original piling designs or where a certified and engineered design needs to be created.
CONTINUOUS FLIGHT AUGER (CFA)
Continuous Flight Auger is a specialist piling method that involves the creation of a concrete deep foundation. This method is preferred for unstable ground conditions where water or sand may be present in the piling process. After achieving the desired depth concrete is then pumped through the auger whilst extracting to form a concrete pier to ensure an uncompromised pile to which reinforcement is then added once the auger is removed. All data is recorded by our Jean Lutz system which can be monitored to view, concrete volume, extraction speeds and 2D image of the pier.
